We have shown that while introducing ionic interactions increase significantly the adhesion energy between a gel and brush, thus increase diminishes or vanishes in equilibrium swelling conditions. However for a moderate concentration of ionic groups it si possible to retain adhesion even in equilibrium conditions. This suggests that the adhesion energy depends as much on the interacting groups thrmselves than on haw they are attached the polymer chains.
