Lone Star Industries Oglesby Plant has a 3 roll Fuller/Losche mill with a Osepa classifier to grind raw feed. This mill replaced four old ball mills with poor classification capabilities. When the roller mill was installed in 1991, the kiln experienced a dramatic increase in production. With the much finer kiln feed, production increased from 1650 tpd to 1800 tpd. With some modifications to the kiln system, we have increased the production on the kiln up to 1870 tpd over the past few years (and over 1900tpd on many days as well). With increased demand for cement, we looked to optimize the roller mill as one option to increase the production on the kiln.
