cohesive zone models have been extensively used in the simulation of ductile fracture. In almost all investigations the material parameters for hte cohesive zone were taken to be constants. This assumption is in contrast to the findings in continuum studies of failure of ductile materials. There, a dependence of material separation on the parameter stress triaxiality was found. A "triaxiality dependent cohesive zone model" is presented which takes this effect into account. The capabilities of the model for hte simulation of ductile crack growth are investigated.
