摘要

This study presents continuous design equations for axially loaded CHS joints relating T-, TT-, X-, K- and KK-joints. The new equations are an extension to those previously derived by Morita et al (1997) and include KK-joints under symmetrical axial loading. The equations were derived using multiple non-linear regression analyses and the tubular joint database of Makino et al (1996). It is shown that although the accuracy of each of the strength predictions is slightly lower, the equations adequately capture the effects of the geometric parameters upon the joint strengths.
