Structural control of the cerro matoso's electric furnace

Cerro Matoso S. A. (CMSA) in Colombia, South America, produces ferro nickel from lateritic ore containing approximately 2.8 percent of nickel. The plant is located 300 Km South of Cartagena on the North coast of the country. The ore is extracted from an open pit mine and processed in a Rotary Kiln-Electric Furnace System; the Kiln with a maximum throughput of 160 DMT per hour and the Electric Furnace with an average applied power of 55 to 60 MW.
