ACOUSTICS OF APARTMENT BUILDINGS - ACOUSTIC ASSESSMENT OF BUILDING PRODUCTS IN APPROVING PROCEDURE

The acoustic climate in buildings depends on construction-material and functional solutions, the building s location in relation to the sources of external noise and vibrations, the sources of noise and vibrations from equipment in the building and the applied noise protection. An important part is played by the quality of the performed construction work.The paper presents the transmission paths of noise and vibrations in buildings. It examines the results of acoustics tests in buildings applying to sound insulation of partitions, including external walls, by subjective methods (questionnaire) and objective ones (measurements) in apartment buildings of various constructions. The examination of the subjective evaluation of noise and its effect on health are the basis for determining the requirements and criteria for assessing the acoustic quality of the building. The new way for formulating acoustic requirements according to ISO EN 717 better corresponds to the subjective assessments of sound insulation.
