摘要

Optimal efficency of the three-way catalytic converter can only be achieved if the air-to-fuel ratio (AFR) iks kept at the stoichiometric level. However, large excursions of the AFR have been observed during transient operations of ort injection engines. These excursions are induced by the ijntake manifold filling, fueling strategy, wall-wetting and sensor dyanmics. Therefore, to have tight control over the AFR, both air and fuel flows in the induction system must be accurately known.
