In two fluid models of vapour-liquid two phase flow the calculation of the exchange of heat,mass or momentum between the phases requires a knowledge of heat,mass or momentum between the phases requires a knowledge of the area of the interface.In bubbly flow this is linked to the bubble size.In spite of the importance of this information the experimental studies in the literature seem to be limited in scope and theoretical consideration often limited to ideas of critical Weber number and homogeneous,isoropic,turbulence.
