Development of air-cooled type absorption chiller/heater using a new working fluid (LiBr + LiI/H_2O)

摘要

Gas-fired absorption chiller/heaters have been widely used for large scale buildings in the air conditioning market.However,the market share of the absorption type in small and medium scale buildings with floor area ranging from 3,000 to 10,000m~3 is low,becase the ocnventional water cooled type absorption chiller/heaters require cooling towers and must be maintained on a periodic basis.therefore,Todyo Gas and Ebara Corporation started joint development of an air-cooled type absorptionchiller/heater in 1995A new working fluid (LiBr + LiI) and high efficiency heat exchanger was developed,which enabled the weight and size of the air-cooled type absorption chiller/heater to be reducedgreatly.A thermosiphon type high temperature generator was also devleoed which shortens the start-up time and reduces the size of the unit.the design cooling capacity is 35 kW (10USRT),and cooling COP is 0.8.The components have now been developed,assembled into a prototype,and tested,Development is being continued with plans for commercialization in 1999.
