Rapid and unobtrusive works evaluation of gaz de france initiative adaptation and use by gaz metropolitain

摘要

Gaz de France initiative on fast,unobtrusive owkring methods seeks to minimize inconvenience of excavation works on public roads by reducing rfrequency,scale and duration of such operations.Also becasue excavation and refurbishment costs represent a large part of gas operation costs,the techniques developed under this initiative will strongly reduce costs.This paper presents the equipment developed by Gaz de France,specifically for service lines layign,and gives a field example,with an overall cost analysis.Finally,this paper presents Gaz Metropolitain experience with the North American adaptation of the Gdf's keyhole tool for electrofusion,carried out by the Natural gas Technologies Center.the setting up of this tool in gaz Metropolitain operations shows that it can be used by any ga scompany which has to deal with works works in urban areas.
