The Visibility Limits of Oil on Water and Remote Sensing Thickness Detection Limits

摘要

The oil-thichness detection limits of oil spill remote sensing systems are reviewed. It was found that charts on the visibility of slicks are derived from experiments conducted early in this century. Findings on the visibility ofslicks by the human eye is reviewed. Similarly, the detection limits of oil spill remote sensors have been reviewed.
