摘要

Leng41 oil reservoir in Liaohe oil field is a deep thick extra-heavy oil reservoir. In this paper we use experimental and numerical simulation techniques to study the feasibility of developing this reservoir with the combustion override split-production horizontal well (COSH) method. By studying the COSH mechanism and applicability, the effect of pay zone thickness and operational parameters in the gas injection wells, gas production wells, and the horizontal well on oil production rate of horizontal well is investigated. The changes in temperature and oil saturation during the COSH process are observed and simulated. COSH operation strategies for Leng41 oil reservoir in Liaohe oil field are also presented.
