Marine spill response planning for the non-persistent oil transportation industry in alaska

The Alaska Petroleum Distributors and Transporters group (APD&T) consists of oil barge operators in alaska that primarily transport non-persistent fuel oil to locations throughout alaska. The APD&T is developing an Industry Proposal for oil spill response planning in Alaska. The U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) requirested the Proposal in an effort to reach a multually satisfactory alternatere compliance solution to the planning standards enacted as part of the Oil Pollution Act of 1990. The APD&T also is working with the AK Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC) during this process with the goal of defining a consistently applied and accepted planning standard.
