To develop a biopulping technology for empty fruit bunches of oil palm (EFBOP), screening of tropical white-rot fungi was carried out in oil palm growing areas in Indonesia. Incubation of EFBOP with these isolates decreased lignin content more rapidly than those of Phanerochaete chrysosporium and Coriolus versicolor.
