In-service assessment of denox catalysts

In order to reduce nitrogen oxides in the flue gas of fossilfired power plants predominantly the selective catalytic reduction (SCR process) is applied. In this process nitrogen monoxide (NO) and nitrogen dioxide (NO_2) are reduced in a heterogeneous catalysis with ammonia (NH_3) to the naturally occurring air components nitrogen (N_2) and water (H_2O).
