Hollow goldickel spheres have been pulsed Nd:YAG laser welded. Strict specifications were required. In particular, a good reproductibility of stability of the weld penetration had to be guaranted in order to provide the integrity of the inner face of the workpiece and also to minimize the welding induced strains below 20 #mu#m. Then appropriate experimental conditions had to be investigated.
