Water plan expansion to meet curent needs at lookign to the future

Facility plannign for expansion of a communities water system always raises the question,"Do we plan for our needs or do we assume we will grow? What is needed for the future? the Town of Queensbury,New York is going to be used as an example for the description of meeting current needs and lookign to hte future.Queensbury is a town located in Warren County,New York.The community is located on the upper Hudson river.The Town originally had a water supply which consisted of several small wells located throughout the Town.A wate rdistrict was formed in 1972 and final ocnstruction on their wate rtreatment plant was completed in 1975.The source of water for the treatment plant is the upper Hudson River.In 1990 the Town's water demand exceeded the water system's capacity.
