Gwinnett County,Georgia,northeast of Atlanta,is one of the fastest growifng counties in the United States.A creative,cost-conscious design provided a fifty-percent increase in water treatment capacity to keep pace with burgeoning water demand,while providing for compliance with anticipated regulations.The service population currently exceeds 500,000,with additional demand from commercial and wholesale customers.At 150 million gallons per day (mgd) expanded capacity,gwinnett's Lanier Filter Plant is the largest water treatment plant in the state.
