Centrifuge model tests were carried out on naturally deposited undisturbed samples and laboratory prepared remolded compacted samples under a pullout condition to study the behavior of compacted and natural soil. Naturally deposited samples weredirectly sampled in centrifuge model containers to minimize sample disturbance. The naturally deposited sand showed higher values of pullout resistance than compacted sand despite the fact that compacted sand models had a higher relative density. At small strains, deterioration of stiffness of both the models is small however, with the increase of strain, it deteriorates sharply and attains almost the same values at large strain.
