Sampling study to determine the fate of surfactants in a newspaper deinking mill and implications for wood pulp mills

A sampling study was conducted at a newspaper deinding mill to determine an overall surfactant material balance for a represnetative deinking process and to understand the overall fate of surfactants in this process.The implications of these results to wood pulp mills using similar surfactants as digester additives,deresination agents,and pitch control agents are discussed.
