Implementation of a pressurized hydrogen peroxide stage and ECF conversion at western pulp limited,squamish division

A ne wpressurized hydrogen peroxide stage (Epo) was installed at the Western Pulp Squamish Operation following extensive laboratory trials.the objectives of the project were to: centre dot Decrease AOX in final treated effluent; centre dot Decrease TOX concentration in fully bleached pulp; centre dot Minimize ClO_2 usage to allow full time ECF operation at a higher production rate; centre dot Lower bleaching cost; and centre dot Improve pulp quality; particularly higher ECF brightness.
