Guidelines to measuring relative performance

The measuring of relative performance is a fairly complex process to execute. However, the underlying principles of mesuring relative performance are easily understood. In fact, the use of the term performance is a slight misnomer because the capability to measure the effect of change to performance is limited to the measurement of changes in the capacity of the processor complex. This paper outlines some guidelines to follow during the relative performance measurement exercise to ensure the only change during the measurement analysis is the one under review.
