Dasd subsystem cache statistics

Data from RMF provides only basic information of cache performance. On the other hand. GTF traces can be a source of a great deal of relevant perspective, and processing through a cache trace simulation tool can provide very detailed statistics. here we discuss categories of cache-releated output, and recent and interesting observations. Examples include I/O patterns, track access frequency, locality of activity, curve profiles for cache misses versus cache size, and residency time. Various categories of cache statistics can be mathematically interrelated.
