High inertia machines like rolling mills,shearing machines,punching machines,presses etc,are generally driven by a large flywheel and an indus=ction motor.The induction motro and the Flywheel.are often overdesigned.due to inadequate knowledge of the loading pattern and the exact informaiton about the peak loads.The flywheel an motor ocmbination for any intermittently loadded machines cna be exactly analysed using monte=Carlo simulaiton techniuqe.THis type of dynamic anlaysis of the machine will hel[ the desinger,in selecting the adequate ocmbinaiton of drive systme for the particular machine under considreation.ther optimla ize of motiro thus desinged have an extra advantae of electric energy conservation.
