Evaluation of beach modelling techniques behind betached breakwaters

This paper prsents an evaluatin of current design formulae for beach response to ultiple breakwaters,comparing hte predictions of the design guidelmes with obsrvations of beach response made during the large scale field experiment carried out at Elmer.on hte UK south coast.The introductin describes typical shroeline response to breakwaters,the forcing mechanisms repsonsible and hte cahracteistics of macro-tidal beaches.The remainder of the paper presents the empirical design tools,and hte results of the evaluation.
