This paper studies the regional identifiability of spatially-varying parameters in distributed parameter systems of paraboli type. Let OMEGA be a bounded domain of R~n and let OMEGA_0 be a subregion of the closed domain OMEGA. The distributed parameter systems having unknown parameters defined on OMEGA are described by the evolution equations in the Hilbert space L~2(OMEGA) and the observations are made on the subregion OMEGA_0 is contained in OMEGA. Several regional identifiability results of the parameters in OMEGA_0 are established by means of the eigenfunction expansions.
