A property of mechanized wet CO_2 welding with water curtain nozzle was researched fundamentally. Mechanized wet underwater welding is a useful technique for an on site construction of very large offshore floating structure (Mega - Float). A total length of underwater welding is very long in this case. This wet welding technique has an opportunity to save much time and cost. Influence of parameters such as root gap width, miss - alignment height, nozzle-work distance, weaving width, shielding gas flow rate and curtain water flow rate was examined to establish suitable welding condition for V-grooved butt joint.
