Resorcinol Bis(Diphenyl Phosphate), a Nonhalogen Flame-Retardant Additive

Resorcinol bis(diphenyl phosphate) is a superior flame-retardant for such engineering resins as PC/ABS blends and HIPS-modified Polyphenylene oxide. It has potential in other systems like HIPS and polyesters. In general, RDP improves processibility of the thermoplastics considered. In polyurethanes, although not as efficient as the halogenated commercial products, it passes the automotive MVSS302 test, and most importantly decreases fogging.
