Control of dwi steel cleanness by lanthanum tracing of deoxidation inclusions, ladle slag treatment and a methodical approach

As far as slabs for sheets are concerned, one of the main defects is inclusions or bubbles entrapment in the slab shell. The analysis of quality control results from steelshops shows that fluid flow patterns in the submerged nozzle and in the mold itself play an important part in the formation of these defects.
