A review of the defective roller bearing vibration CD data sets collected by the association of american railroads

In April 1997 the last of a CD ROM archive set of defective roller bearing vibration data became available from the Association of American Railroads (AAR) Transportion Technology Center (TTC) in Pueblo, Colorado. This paper reviews and describes tests that will provide the diagnostic development community with an opportunity to access and anlayze vibration data for years frm known defective roller bearings under extensive simulated rail service conditions. The data archieve includes over 600 microphone, accelerometer, and tachometer files collected under many test conditions.
