Chromium is associated with a number of industrial operations, such as metal finishing, manufacturing of inks, dyes, pigments, glass, and ceramics. Converntional methods for removal of chromium from wastewaters generally involve the reduction of hexavalent chromium by reducing agents at a low pH, followed by raising the pH to precipitate the trivalent chromium (1).
