Concurent engineering is a systematic approach to manage the product development space for a QCD-effectifve product specification. The realization of concurrent engineering is not so simple because the product development space has a coupled heterogeneous information such as product, proces, organizations, resources and others. To reach a QCD-effective product specification, how the propertis of product(P), process(P), and organization (O) affects QCD must be analyzed. In this paper, the qualitative analysis of QCD and PPO is discussed, and approaches to improve QCD in concurrent engineering are proposed. QCD is c lassified into the QCD of the development process and QCD of the manufacturing process. In PPO analysis, the relationship between product, process and organization is defined according to a QCD viewpoint. This anaysis will be the basis for quantitative or mathematical approaches of concurrent engineering.
