Characterization of fort benjamin harrison soil

Fort Benjamin Harrison is a military installation with a series of small arms firing ranges which have been in use for a number of years. Over this period heavy metal contamination in the form of lead, copper, and zinc from bullet fragments has become a major environmental issue. A soil characterization as well as a leachability study has been done for four soils that make up these ranges as a preliminary step in the remediation as to ascertain the best means chemically or physically for treating this soil.
