An innovative technology to control fouling in heat exchangers was developed. The technology was based on solenoid-induced molecular agitation and will be referred to in the present study as an electronic anti-fouling (EAF) technology. To validate the EAF technology, a recirculating flow loop was built where a main test tube was heated electrically. A series of accelerated foulding tests were conducted, measuring pressure d rop across the heating tube and convective heat transfer coefficient as a function of time. For the accelerated fouling test, artificial hard water of 1,000 ppm as CaCO_3 was used throughout the tests. The pressure drop obtained with the EAF treatment was approximately 51
