This paper presents a generic computer-aided simulation approach to analyze digitally-controlled switched mode power converter circuits and systems. This computer-aided simulation procedure is based upon following three substances, i.e., a circuit and system equation using time-varying resistors taking place of the active switches and the passive diodes incorporated into the converter circuits; a state equation for the inductors and the capacitors; and an algebraic computation method to transform the matrices of the circuit equation into the matrices of the state equation. The numerical integration is achieved with rather less numerical calculation steps because of the minimum matrix size of the state equation. The effectiveness of this approach are proved introducing a three-phase voltage-fed high-power-factor AC to DC converter with a digital control scheme.
