Eosdis: single-point access to earth science data

NASA Mission to Planet Earth's EOSDIS (Earth Observing System Data and Information System) provides scientists a single point of access to data, information and services available at multiple archives all over the world. The current operational system interconnects 9 U.S. daa centers, as ell as inernational data centers in Europe, Japan, Canada, Australia and Russia. EOSDIS supports access to approximately 500 databsets and nearly 450 geophysical parameters. These cover topic areas including ocean circulation, air-sea interaction, hydrologic cycle, cryosphere, biogeochemical dyanics, land processes, upper atmosphere, atmospheric dynamics, global biosphere, and geophysics. Data sources include hand collected field data, station, buoy, ship, aircraft, spacecraft and computer model analysis data.
