Quantitative metallography of powder metallurgy materials

摘要

Metallographic examination of a powder compact speciment can reveal the processing history and probable properties.Basic informatin such as grain size,phase dispersion and pore structure is readily visible.Of particular importance in these materials is the pore structure which influences the mechanical properties.To determine accurate levels of porosity,care must be taken throughout the specimen preparation process.
