Anatomical and Mathematical Tools in the Visual Pathways Studies: an Historical Overview

摘要

The main purpose of this communication is to present the scientists engaged into the visual system studies with a simplified voer view of the historical developments of the progressive integration between anatomical and mathematical tools leveled at the understanding of the basic processes of this sensory modality. The temporal sequence will be amply simplified and made almost sketchy in order to allow for a more comprehensive reconstruction of the events. The reason why such a contribution may be of some interest and vantage to the workers in this field is, at least, twofold.
