The use of the Zeta-Potential for particle charge measurement has long been a technique to determine conditions of pigments, fillers and ceramids and has been used in some instances with more or less success in the paper-industry to determine wet-end conditions of furnishes. Particle Charge Detection using colloidal titration has been substituting the Zeta-potential measurement method because of simplicity of instrumentation and method. Most Particle Charge Detection is performed by using the Streaming Current or Streaming Potential or a modification of it as a measurement signal which overcomes some of the inaccuracies of the colloidal titration.
