摘要

The metacarpophalangeal joint (MCP) has been described as simply two perpendicular flexion-extension and ad-abduction hinges. A three-dimensional, seven-muscle biomechanical model of index-finger static force capabilities using this MCP description (Model 1, Figure 1) can reproduce the experiemntal magnitudes of maximal finger tip forces. Model 1 can also reproduce the muscle excitation patterns seen in subjects producing finger tip forces in the plane of index-finger flexion.
