Use of liquefied natural gas (lng) in a mass transit fleet

The Metropolitan Transit Authority of Houston, Texas, Harris County (Metro) began exploration for an alternative fuel in 1989. The decision to use LNG was made in October, 1990. This paper covers the experience gained in six years of LNG operation relevant to vehicles, fuel stations, fuel supply and personnel issues.
