Case histories are reported which demonstrate how materials property data can be effectively used to support decision making during short plant turnaround acitivties. In some cases equipment has been found to operate under benign conditions and little damage occurs in high temperature service. In other cases, testing or the properties database are found to concide with observed damage. The examples shown utilize the Omega methodology which can be extended to corrosion situations or complex geometries such as bends.
