摘要

Seismic-caused postulated break of hig energy piping in nuclear power plants is an important safety topic. For Class 1,2, and 3 piping, the U.S Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Standard Review Plan (SRP) Section 3.6.2 provides acceptance criteria on the design basis for high energy piping break analysis. This paper presents a case study with the approaches and results of high energy piping break analyses, which are on the basis of continued safe operation using a nonlinear response spectrum method for a typcial existing non-seismic-designed ANSI B31.1 non-safety main steam piping system.
