Version Support and Management in CIMS/EDBMS

摘要

In engineering applications, the design of an artifict evolves over time whee the design process is iterative and tentative. Multiple versions of an object coexist in databases. This paper analyzes some problems of engineering design evolution in a versioning frame and presents the version support and management in CIMS/EDBMS. Cooperative design is discussed in more detail, while a velutionmechanism for instance versions is proposed next. Adopted methods support top-down or bottom-up creating of a design object version.
