摘要

Simultaneous removal of carbonaceous and nitrogenous compounds in wastewater has been successfully perfomred by fluiidized-bed bioreactor consisting of immobilized microbes in porous carrier. Denitrification in the reactor is considered to have proceeded in the inner anaerobic region of the carrier, where the dissolved oxygen is exhausted by organic oxidization and nitrification in its outer region. Consequently, the functional microbes is self-organized in the carrier. For the efficient removal operation, the relationship among these populations should be clarified.
