Improving the Communication Performance of Cluster

摘要

As the advance of computer technology, using PC clusters or workstation clusters is very popular in parallel computing. the speed between processes i the bottleneck of distributed parallel computing systems because of the restriction of network communication bandwidth. In this paper, we overview some methods improving communication and give some preliminary experimental results of PVM interprocesses communication speed based on ATM networks and user program. The results show parallel computing on an ATM network in comparison to a conventional Ethernet can provide larger communication bandwidth and improve performance of cluster.
