COmputer-supported cooperative work and knowledge management

摘要

Design activities and in particular repetitive design for large projects require cooperation. During the design process, vast quantities of knowledge are used and new knowledge is created. CSCW tools will thus have to support knowledge management as well as the cooperation process. Several approaches are pursued to achieve such goals from a global standardization to the use of new technologies available from artificial intelligence. In the latter case, the concept of cognitive agents is a good candidate for building systems where humans and computerize tools would share the function of managing the required knowledge. The text mentions some projects developed to test this approach.
