Recent Advances in Oxygen Utilization for Wastewater Treatment

Oxygen was first used in the late 1960's for treatment of rivers and municipal wastewater and PRAXAIR worked extensively on the use of O_2 , focusing on the transfer efficiency of O_2 into wastewater and the power requirement for generation and dissolution of O_2. As a result, we developed a number of solutions, enabling wastewater treatment facilities to expand their current capacity while at the same time meeting emission control requirements. This article will focus on MIXFLO and our most recent advance the In-Situ Oxygenator (I-SO).
