Phase holdup and axial solids concentration distribution were measured in a tapered bubble column with slurry circulating operation. Three phase system was composed of air, water and quartz sands . The correlation for the solid hindered settling velocity, the solid dispersion coefficient ,the average gas holdup, and the solid concentration on the top the column respectively are used to predict the axial solid concentration distribution
