Catalysis of iron sulfates as a coal liquefaction catalyst

Catalysis of iron sulfates was studied on the hydroconversion of polycyclic aromatics in order to develop coal hydroliquefaction catalysts. Activity of ferrous sulfate dramatically increased with addition of sufficient sulphur. However, the activity of ferric sulfate did not increase with addition of sulphur.
